What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles arrive in the Colorado town of Laysen in 1851 after a freight wagon team bolts through the street. Bill stops the runaway mules and confronts the man who spooked them, then meets Kathy Haim and her father Dogger, old friends whose freight business is in trouble. A rival freighter, Hardline Zegar, is competing with them for a contract from freight line owner Max Murphy. The episode is the Wild Bill Hickok radio series, starring Guy Madison and Andy Devine, and it has been dated to December 16, 1951. Murphy proposes a race to North Platte with the contract as the prize, and Bill and Jingles are asked to follow it and keep it fair.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
