What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his pal Jingles investigate after two prospectors, Shorty Briggs and his partner, vanish in the snowy Rockies. Shorty's sister, Mrs. Burley, and her friend Mr. Callahan ask for help. Hickok and Jingles visit a medicine man, Old Wild Horse, who sold the prospectors a map, but he is shot dead by an unseen gunman. Following the trail into the mountains, the two men find the bodies of the prospectors, apparently killed by a cougar, and then a hidden cave. The episode is part of the Wild Bill Hickok series, which features Guy Madison and Andy Devine, and was first broadcast on July 15, 1951.
The Rocky Mountains and the nearby town of Canyon Crest, late autumn, with snow and bitter cold

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
