What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles search for Sally Blaine's elderly grandfather, who has vanished in the desert near Black Hill. Sally explains that the old man, an amateur geologist, went walking and was seen twenty miles away. The lawmen follow his tracks and find signs that he rested and buried a piece of gold quartz. They then spot him on the ridge, apparently herded by two riders. The episode is from the Wild Bill Hickok series, first aired December 20, 1954, starring Guy Madison as Wild Bill and Andy Devine as Jingles.
The Old West desert near Black Hill, with a ranch house, sagebrush, cactus and rocky ridges.

Listen for: The grandfather's rock collecting and the gold quartz he found.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
