What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his sidekick Jingles investigate the death of Rush Curran, a prospector shot on a mountain trail in the Teton country. Hawk Williams has presented a foreclosure paper on Curran's gold mine, and Oakham, the local official who signed the documents, appears to be involved in the dealings. Bill and Jingles ride out to tell Curran's young son, Pepper, the news, then question him about the mine and the quartz his father took to town. Gunfire erupts on the trail as the lawmen move to uncover the truth behind the mortgage and the killing. The series, Wild Bill Hickok, starred Guy Madison and Andy Devine, and this episode aired on 1954-12-22.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
