What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his sidekick Jingles receive a letter from a New York law firm saying Jingles has inherited the Lazy J ranch in Texas, on condition that he identify himself in Hila Fork before the 30th. Someone shoots at them, and their hat and fresh paint are damaged. In Hila Fork, Jingles and Bill find a lawyer, Wheelock, tied up and robbed of the list of personal questions needed to prove Jingles's identity. They then visit the Lazy J, where the Tucker family hosts them and reveals that the ranch would pass to them if Jingles fails to claim it. Bill notices clues that do not fit, and the men pursue the matter further.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
