What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles are eating at a hotel when they hear that bank robbers have struck the town, killing the teller and the sheriff. They ride after the gang, led by Bart Masters, into the rocky mouth of Black Canyon. There they are ambushed from behind boulders and pinned down. They meet an old prospector named Rocky, who speaks loudly or softly as he pleases and has a claim near a spring. Trapped as darkness approaches, Bill decides to act. The series, Wild Bill Hickok, aired on May 7, 1952, and stars Guy Madison and Andy Devine.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
