What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles, United States marshals, ride into the Badlands and are fired upon by a man in a fancy Mexican-style outfit. He takes them to a castle ruled by the mysterious Baron of the Badlands, Don Antonio Smith, who warns that lawmen who come here never leave alive. Hickok and Jingles accept the Baron's dinner invitation and are soon disarmed, knocked out and locked in a cellar. There they meet a captured sheriff, Wilson of Carson County, who has been watching men load boxes from a room beside them, and the three begin working toward a way out.

The Badlands, a barren stretch of hills and sand, and a stone castle with a cellar under it, in the early days of the old West.

Characters: Wild Bill Hickok, Jingles, Baron of the Badlands (Don Antonio Smith), Pete, Pedro, Sheriff Wilson

Listen for: Hickok and Jingles being tricked into the castle and locked in the cellar, and the sheriff describing the nightly loading of boxes in the next room.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
