What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles rescue Martha Gilroy from a runaway stagecoach after the driver is shot and killed. Martha was carrying a letter from her father, Sam Gilroy, which is now missing. The lawmen learn that Sam has left a note claiming he has gone prospecting, but its wording suggests it was not written by him. Following the trail to the Gilroy mine, Hickok and Jingles find trouble, a dead superintendent, and a suspicious assayer named Harvey Dunning. The story is part of the Wild Bill Hickok radio series, first broadcast on April 10, 1953, with Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
