What happens
Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles pursue the fuzz family after a stagecoach robbery leaves its driver and guard dead. The robbers hid the stolen cash in an old mine tunnel and sealed it with dynamite, trapping a local boy who had overheard them. When young Bobby Wilson goes missing in the hills, Wild Bill and Jingles follow his tracks to the mine, where Grandpa Granger, a retired sheriff, tags along and insists on helping. The episode is the Wild Bill Hickok adventure titled Grandpa and the Dynamite, a Kellogg's Corn Flakes-sponsored western from 1954, with Guy Madison as Wild Bill and Andy Devine as Jingles. The Kellogg's sponsor pitches are omitted from this guide.
The rough Old West frontier, including a stagecoach route, a hillside mine tunnel, and the hills and mountains behind a small town.
Characters: Wild Bill Hickok, Jingles, Grandpa Granger, Bobby Wilson, Spade, Slash
Listen for: Listen for the way Grandpa Granger's stories about the fuzz family keep interrupting the search, and for the moment Bobby Wilson is found hiding in the brush near the mine.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
