What happens

Marshals Wild Bill Hickok and Jingles ride the mesa after hearing a cougar's cry and finding a dead man, Manuel, on the trail. At the T-Bench ranch they are met with hostility by three strangers, Frenchy, Ira Belder and Joe, and the ranch's owner, Rocky Builder, later asks Hickok for a private talk. Rocky admits he distrusts his uncle and the other two men, who took over the ranch after his father's death. Hickok begins to suspect that the mysterious cat is connected to the cattle losses on the mesa and to Manuel's death.

The mesa and the T-Bench ranch on the Wyoming frontier, with limestone columns, a winter wind and a ghostly cougar said to roam the area.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
