What happens

United States Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles visit a traveling carnival for some fun, but a dispute at a ring-toss booth turns into a brawl. Afterward they find old Pop Jenkins lying between two tents, badly beaten, and shots ring out in the dark. Hickok and Jingles set out to find who attacked the old man and who fired at them. The Wild Bill Hickok radio series starred Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles, and this episode aired on March 27, 1953.

A traveling carnival on the Old West frontier, with booths, tents and a midway at night.

Characters: Wild Bill Hickok, Jingles, Pop Jenkins, Pitch, Sam

Listen for: The gunshots in the dark between the tents, and the clues Hickok and Jingles find on the carnival lot.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
