What happens

On the Red Horse Ranch, cattle rustlers stampede and drive off much of the herd on the last night of the roundup. Sam Carter, who was counting on the sale of the whole herd to cover his debts, is left in a desperate position. Alabama and the crew want to pursue the thieves, but Steve Bradford, temporarily in charge of the outfit, orders them to return. Carter blames Alabama for the loss, while Bradford offers to buy the ranch at his earlier price. Alabama begins to suspect Bradford and writes to a sheriff in El Paso for information about him, while the crew waits out a storm and sings on the trail. The episode ends before the outcome of the rustling or the ranch sale is known.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
