What happens
At the rodeo, Alabama, foreman of the Red Horse Ranch, has entered his horse Red in the first race against Steve Bradford's horse. The winner will run in the rodeo's final race. Before the race, Alabama reassures Rose that he has trained Red for a long time, and Bradford watches the horses closely. Bradford tries to make a bet with Alabama, who seems doubtful of his own horse. Red becomes skittish just before the start, and during the race Red suddenly kicks and throws Alabama from the saddle. Bradford takes the lead, and the narrator notes that Red must have had a reason for his strange behavior.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
