What happens
Red Horse Ranch: First Tune Is a Square Dance is an episode of the Red Horse Ranch series. Sam Carter hosts a big barn dance at his ranch to celebrate his daughter Rose's return home from school in the East. Neighbors ride in from across the range, and the Red Horse outfit provides the music, with songs and square dances filling the evening. Alabama, the ranch foreman, notices that Sam seems troubled and does not enjoy the party as he should. Rose arrives with a stranger, Steve Bradford, who says he has bought the Bar D ranch and plans to stay in the area. The men grow suspicious of him, and their questions about his purpose remain open at the end of the part heard here.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
