What happens

Alabam's horse lost the first race at the Danville rodeo after someone placed cactus under its saddle blanket. Alabam and the Red Horse outfit suspect Steve Bradford, who went on to win that race. Meanwhile the Red Horse cowboys collect honors in other events, and Tex rides a bucking horse nicknamed Coach Drew, staying on despite the wild ride. Alabam searches for his friend Dewey while the crowd is entertained with songs. Later, Alabam is asked to ride Red in the final horse race in place of Silver, who has a split hoof. Red Horse Ranch is a radio western series, and this episode is ep49 of the series.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
