What happens

Alabama, foreman of the Red Horse Ranch, prepares his horse Red for the first race at the rodeo. Steve Bradford, from the Bar D, has also entered a horse, and the winner will earn a place in the rodeo's final race. The crowd gathers while Rose and the ranch hands talk about the race, and Bradford makes an offer of a side bet. Just before the start, Red becomes skittish and acts strangely, and Alabama struggles to control him. The race begins with Bradford's horse in the lead.

A rodeo grounds in the American West, where the Red Horse Ranch crew and the Bar D rider prepare for the first horse race of the day.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
