What happens
Sam Carter, owner of the Red Horse Ranch, is pressed by Steve Bradford to sell his outfit, and Carter promises to wait a short time longer before deciding. Bradford suggests that Carter keep a closer watch on his foreman, Alabama, whom he saw riding toward the hills. Later, Sheriff Simpkins arrives at the ranch with papers concerning a debt owed to the bank in Danville, and the ranch's cattle face attachment. The sheriff seems reluctant to carry out his duty, and the crew sings for him as he lingers. The Red Horse Ranch is in serious trouble, and the outcome of the debt remains open.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
