What happens

Alabam and Tenderfoot ride night guard over the herd on the Red Horse Ranch while the other cowhands sing around the campfire. Tenderfoot admires the open range and the stars, and the two men talk about Rose and about Steve Bradford, who has been put in charge of the outfit while Alabam recovers from his injury. Alabam reveals he has been quietly looking into Bradford's past, sending a letter to the sheriff of El Paso, and he has also noticed something about the red horse that he thinks may matter.

Night on the range with the Red Horse Ranch herd, under a bright moon, near a campfire where the cowhands are singing.

Characters: Alabam, Tenderfoot, Steve Bradford, Rose, Mr. Carter

Listen for: Alabam's suspicions about Steve Bradford and the red horse, and the news he expects from the sheriff of El Paso.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
