What happens
At Red Horse Ranch, the cowhands gather in the corral in the evening to see whether Alabama can break Red, a difficult horse. Alabama mounts him and rides him around the pen without much trouble, and the men cheer his success. Afterward Rose comes to Alabama, worried about the ranch's troubles. She tells him that Steve Bradford has spoken to her about the drought, the dying cattle and his offer to buy the ranch from her father, Sam Cara. Rose says she will stay home instead of returning to school to help her father fight to keep the ranch. The episode leaves Bradford's motives in question.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
