What happens
On the Red Horse Ranch, the cowhands sing together after a long day's work, and their talk turns to Steve Bradford, a newcomer who has just bought the neighbouring Bar D Ranch. Alabama tries to tame a difficult horse named Red while the others tease him and look on. Mr. Carter takes Alabama aside and admits that Bradford has offered to buy the Red Horse outfit, and that the ranch is struggling. Carter has not yet told his daughter Rose, and he is unsure what to do. Back in the bunkhouse, the men talk over Bradford's interest in buying up land in the district, and Alabama warns them to keep their thoughts to themselves. The episode leaves Bradford's motives and the fate of the ranch unresolved.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
