What happens
Red Horse Ranch hosts a big barn dance to celebrate Rose Carter's return home from school in the East. Sam Carter's hands, led by Alabama and Idaho, keep the crowd singing and dancing while the ranch's foreman watches the room. A stranger named Steve Bradford dances with Rose, and Alabama and Idaho grow wary of him. Sam Carter seems troubled and withdrawn during the party, and Rose introduces him to Bradford. Bradford reveals he has bought the Bar D ranch and plans to stay in the area. The episode ends on the question of his intentions toward the Red Horse.
