What happens

Jim Box and Rod Allison, two young ranch hands working for Jesse Wheat, meet the rancher near Dodge City with sinister intentions. After killing Wheat, they attempt to establish an alibi by visiting Marshal Dillon in town. When Wheat's riderless horse returns to the stable, Dillon discovers the body and begins investigating the murder.
