What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles protect a telegraph crew building a line west across the desert, while Pat Hardy races a contract deadline. Shots from a hillside keep stalling the work, and Hardy is close to losing his crew. Bill and Jingles visit the Acme Construction Company and question its president, Bates, while a talking parrot in the office offers odd clues. In Wires to the West, Guy Madison plays Wild Bill and Andy Devine plays Jingles. The episode originally aired on April 9, 1954.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
