What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles are sent to the Rio Grande, the border with Mexico, to stop a smuggling gang that crosses at an old windmill by the river. Waiting through a dark night, they hear voices and see signal matches, but the smugglers do not cross, and gunfire erupts from the American side. Bill and Jingles give chase along the riverbank and follow a dark-haired girl with a red ribbon across the border. In a Mexican gambling hall they find the girl and sense that the local crowd is hostile. The episode is part of the Wild Bill Hickok radio series, first broadcast on January 19, 1953, with Guy Madison as Wild Bill and Andy Devine as Jingles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
