What happens

Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles ride through a blizzard toward Fort Charles, where they find a dead government investigator carrying a letter asking that Captain McCall be notified. At the fort, McCall explains that a string of cattle herds bound for the garrison have been raided, and four special agents have been killed. He has hired a shady beef contractor called Lowdown, who insists he alone can deliver a herd. Hickok is suspicious of him and of the set-up, and begins to piece together where the stolen cattle might be.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
