What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles investigate the shooting of Sheriff Jenkins, who was killed from behind at his desk. Their search leads them to Dude Brewster, who runs the local gambling hall and seems unusually interested in the sheriff's fate. Bill and Jingles confront Brewster and his associates, who make threats in return. The episode is part of the Wild Bill Hickok series, first aired on April 2, 1954, with Guy Madison as Bill and Andy Devine as Jingles, as the transcript indicates. The story is set in a frontier town where the law is openly resisted by its more powerful residents.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
