What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles stop to water their horses on the trail to Dead Rock and learn that the creek running through the valley has dried up overnight. Rancher Cash Dawson has built a dam and offers water to the other ranchers for fifty dollars a month, and Hickok grows suspicious of him. Investigating the hillside where the creek begins, Hickok, Jingles and Hank Rainey enter a dark tunnel, where they are attacked and trapped as the entrance is closed off. The series Wild Bill Hickok is presented here, with Guy Madison as Wild Bill and Andy Divine as Jingles, first broadcast on April 22, 1953.
The Old West, a valley on the trail to Dead Rock, its ranches, a dam on Dawson's land, and a tunnel in the side of a hill
Characters: Wild Bill Hickok, Jingles, Hank Rainey, Cash Dawson
Listen for: The tunnel scene, where Hickok and his companions discover the source of the vanished water
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
