What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles ride into the deserted mining town of Gold Circle at dusk and find it eerie and silent. Strange sounds, a ringing church bell and a warning note on the church door unsettle them as they search the abandoned buildings. Their investigation draws them toward old residents, the town's former mine owner Tim Frawley and the local sheriff, who describe a series of mysterious accidents and a catastrophic cave-in years earlier. The pair soon suspect the ghost stories hide a real and deliberate scheme.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
