What happens
Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles arrive in the half-civilized town of Halfway Up, where a small stranger named Morgan Victor Briggs announces he is forming a band of outlaws. Briggs claims to be following the diary of his late uncle, Bad Boy Briggs, and he quickly clashes with the local gang leader, One Step Korik. Hickok and Jingles soon find themselves caught up in the trouble, as a stagecoach holdup and suspicious fires draw them into a dispute over stolen gold. This is an episode of the radio series Wild Bill Hickok, first broadcast on October 21, 1951, with Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
