What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles arrive in Basin City, where heavy rains have swollen the river and threatened the dam at Savage River. Barber Tony hopes the marshal can stop the flood that endangers the homesteaders. Hickok is soon drawn into a standoff with Stacy Chance, a gunman with a reputation for shooting from behind, while the homesteaders struggle to pay their debts to banker Thad Barrett. The Wild Bill Hickok radio series starred Guy Madison and Andy Devine, and this episode is part of that series. The story is set in the Old West and follows the marshal as he works to protect the dam and the people in the valley below.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
