What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles are hired by railroad magnate Mr. Hennessy to check a survey map for a route through the Colorado mountains. Burton Bueller, a surveyor offering the maps, grows hostile when his route is rejected, and his conduct soon becomes violent. Hickok confronts Bueller, who claims he can still find a pass, and Hennessy offers ten thousand dollars to whoever brings an approved route. Hennessy's daughter Molly has a sweetheart, young engineer Jim Mallory, who sets out to survey the same ground while Bueller follows him. The Wild Bill Hickok series aired in 1953, starring Guy Madison and Andy Devine, and this episode was first broadcast on March 18, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
