What happens

At the Feather Falls Fair, Marshal Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles look into a wave of pickpocketing after a town official calls for help. Jingles, working out a loan for cake supplies, is soon caught up in the marshal's investigation. Hickok and Jingles follow a dust cloud, encounter the fair's performers, and deal with Miss Hattie McGillicuddy's stolen purse and her cake contest rivalry. Hickok's suspicion of a cover story takes shape as they pursue the pickpockets. The Wild Bill Hickok radio series starring Guy Madison and Andy Devine presents the tale, though the original air date listed is 1953-12-09.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
