What happens

Jingles, the deputy of United States Marshal Wild Bill Hickok, is dreading a visit from his long-winded uncle, Peter Periwinkle Jones, who has arrived from Texas. Jingles tries to fake illness to avoid him, but the uncle arrives with a prisoner, Monty Dixon, who has a history of trouble in the town of Santa Fe. Dixon has made threats to take over the town, and tension builds as his gang gathers and Hickok and Jingles prepare for a showdown. The uncle soon announces plans to open a detective agency next to Dixon's office, and the town grows nervous as the rivalry escalates. Wild Bill Hickok, starring Guy Madison and Andy Devine, aired on February 17, 1954.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
