What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles investigate after a farmer named Spiletti is beaten and shot in New Mexico. Spiletti has been fighting cattle rancher Rip Stanner over open grazing land that his homestead fences now cut off. Hickok questions Stanner and his men, who deny involvement, while the two lawmen try to work out who is responsible for the violence and the trouble over the onion patch. The Wild Bill Hickok series starred Guy Madison as Hickok and Andy Devine as Jingles, and this episode aired on May 22, 1953.

New Mexico, in the American West, on cattle range and farmland near a town.

Characters: Wild Bill Hickok, Jingles, Spiletti, Tony, Angelo, Rip Stanner, Punch

Listen for: The gunfire at Spiletti's farm and the explosions heard on the hill that night.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
