What happens

Wild Bill Hickok and his deputy Jingles set out on a fishing vacation after a doctor advises Jingles to avoid excitement for a week. Their rest is cut short when a runaway buckboard comes down the trail, pursued by two gunmen. The buckboard belongs to Margie Blaine, whose father has been shot and who carries a sack of gold from his claim. Bill and Jingles follow the trail toward the claim to check on him. The Wild Bill Hickok radio series, first broadcast October 24, 1952, has Guy Madison as Bill and Andy Devine as Jingles.

The American West, along the west branch of the Little Buffalo River and a remote mining claim in the hills.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
