What happens
Train robbers kill a passenger during a holdup and steal a silver-buckled belt. Two brothers, Kit and Lex Springer, hunting the outlaws alone, encounter Britt Ponset on the range and convince him to guide them through Miller Pass, believing the bandits are headed that way rather than to Pat's Canyon where the sheriff's posse is searching.
The western frontier near Black Lech, late 1800s. A train robbery has just occurred, and the action moves to the open range and Miller Pass.
Characters: Britt Ponset, Kit Springer, Lex Springer, Sheriff, Mrs. Davis, Carl Davis
Listen for: Britt Ponset's distinctive pearl-handled six-shooter and the mystery of whether the brothers' hunch about the outlaws' route is correct. Listen for the tension between Britt's reluctance and the brothers' persuasion.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
