What happens

Britt Ponset arrives in Virtue City, a mining town experiencing a new silver strike boom, to pick up supplies. At the hotel, he encounters an old acquaintance, Arch, who has reinvented himself as a theatrical impresario named Archibald Plunkette, now married to Maggie and performing dramatic productions. When the audience at their show becomes dissatisfied, Arch and Maggie face a crisis that forces them to make difficult decisions about their newfound theatrical venture.
