What happens
Britt Ponson, the Six-Shooter, arrives in Yellowcrest for a haircut and encounters his old friend Elf Crandall at the barber shop. Britt learns that the town has grown to nearly 700 people and now has a bank, and that the townspeople have decided they need a younger sheriff to replace the aging Gabriel Starbuck, who has served the town for forty years. The barber pressures Britt to help break the news to Gabe, though Britt resists getting involved in the uncomfortable situation.
Yellowcrest, a growing Western town with a barber shop and sheriff's office
Characters: Britt Ponson (the Six-Shooter), Gabriel Starbuck (the sheriff), Elf Crandall, Breezy (the barber), Al (townsperson)
Listen for: The tension between the town's progress and loyalty to an aging lawman who built the town, and hints of trouble brewing as Britt heads to confront Gabe about his forced retirement
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
