What happens
Brit Ponset, a wandering Texas plainsman, returns to Petersville after six years away and encounters Calvin Plummer, now grown to manhood. Calvin's father has recently died, and his mother has married a newcomer named Oliver Quincy. Brit learns that Quincy may not be what he seems, particularly when questioned about a Quincy Ranch in New Mexico that Brit has never heard of.
Petersville, a town in the western territories, during a rainstorm; also referenced: Elk Point in New Mexico territory
Characters: Brit Ponset, Calvin Plummer, Doc Early, Oliver Quincy
Listen for: The mystery surrounding Oliver Quincy and his sudden appearance in Petersville, along with hints that something may be dishonest about him or his intentions toward Calvin's recently widowed mother.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
