What happens
Britt Ponsett rides through Fifty Yard Canyon toward Smoke Falls and encounters Art, a man on the run. Art's stepbrother Clyde has been shot dead, and though Art didn't kill him, the sheriff has arrested Art for the murder and formed a posse to hunt him down. Art asks Britt to ride ahead and convince the sheriff and his men to wait peacefully at Squirrel Rock while Art turns himself in.
Fifty Yard Canyon near Smoke Falls in the western territories, at dawn and early morning.
Characters: Britt Ponsett, Art, Clyde (dead), Sheriff Elbury, Paul (Art's father, deceased)
Listen for: The tense confrontation between Britt and the fugitive Art, and Britt's agreement to help negotiate with the lynch mob-minded posse.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
