What happens

On the Red Horse Ranch, the hands enter a horse race, and the winner will drive into town to fetch Rose Carter, the owner's daughter, home from school in the east. Alabam, a rider confident in his skill, prepares his roan horse Old Bin for the contest, while Idaho, who has his own interest in Rose, speaks with him about the race. Other hands, including Bob and Dan Higgins, gather as the boys sing and joke, and Sam Carter arranges to start the race himself. The race begins with the riders heading toward a boulder down the road, and the episode closes with the outcome of the first stretch of the contest.

The Red Horse Ranch, including its corral, bunkhouse and the race course down the road to a boulder, with the nearby town and station.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
