What happens

Carter, owner of the Red Horse Ranch, is still undecided about selling to Steve Bradford, while his foreman Alabama investigates why Bradford wants this and other ranches in the country. Rose, Carter's daughter, takes a horse for a ride, but her mount Blackie bolts toward a draw. Alabama and the other hands race after her. Steve Bradford intercepts the runaway horse and saves her. Afterward, Alabama warns that gunshots were fired nearby, and the group wonders who fired them.

The Red Horse Ranch, its corral and pasture, and the draw nearby.

Characters: Carter, Alabama, Rose, Steve Bradford, Bob, Arizona, Cheyenne

Listen for: Who fired the shots near the draw, and why Steve Bradford wants the ranches.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
