What happens
The Red Horse Ranch cowboys ride out into the mountains of Wyoming, led by Alabam, to search for the spot where Trigger Dawson's loot is hidden. Two of the boys have left the ranch, and the group makes camp beside a clear mountain stream. Around the campfire the cowboys trade stories and sing, and Dewey talks about the outlaw Figure Dawson, his father. Alabam notices a campfire glowing in the distance across the river, and the men wonder whether another party is following the same trail toward the same hidden place, with half of the map in its possession.
The mountains of Wyoming, along a trail above a clear mountain stream and near the Rowan River, at night beside a campfire under the stars.
Characters: Alabam, Red, Dewey, Arizona, Idaho, Tex, Tenderfoot, Cookie
Listen for: Alabam spotting a campfire across the river and suggesting another party may be on the trail, and Dewey's talk about his father, Figure Dawson.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
