What happens

Red Horse Ranch follows young Doy Dawson, whose locket holds part of a strange map leading to where Trigger Dawson buried his loot shortly before he was killed. Alabama and the crew hope to find the rest of the map in an Indian mound along the Roying River, but they discover that someone has reached the spot first and taken it. The group sings on the trail and packs up camp, with Cookie struggling to load his pots and pans. Alabama and Idaho puzzle over the torn map, working out which missing words the fragments might spell and how the marked points form a line running from Roanroot toward the river. The episode is the first tune in the series, and the transcript breaks off before the story is resolved. It is a Red Horse Ranch episode.

Characters: Doy Dawson, Trigger Dawson, Alabama, Idaho, Cookie, Tex, Arizona

Listen for: Alabama and Idaho working out the missing words on the torn map and the line drawn through the marked points

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
