What happens
Ed Carter, owner of the Red Horse Ranch, has agreed to let Dewey Dawson stay on at the ranch, but the other hands resent having the son of an outlaw among them. Carter had told Cookie to take Dewey's dog away and get rid of it, and the cook's handling of that order becomes a source of trouble. Alabama takes an interest in the boy and tries to win him over, while the crew talks about the coming rodeo and the race they hope to win. The hands are preparing for the event, and the boys' feelings about Dewey remain unsettled.

Characters: Ed Carter, Dewey Dawson, Cookie, Alabama, Cheyenne, Arizona, Elizabeth
Listen for: Cookie's explanation of where he took Dewey's dog, and the discovery of the dog near the end
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
