What happens
Alabam, a tenderfoot cowboy, and the hands of the Red Horse Ranch are unsettled after a barn dance, where a stranger came asking for Alabam. Alabam has been acting strangely, and the boys puzzle over his secretive behavior and his growing affection for Rose Carter, daughter of Dad Carter, who owns the ranch. Later, Alabam returns with the stranger, who is revealed to be Richard Niles, a representative of an oil company. Niles has come to the ranch on business concerning drilling for oil on the Red Horse land, and the ranch hands learn Alabam had a hand in this discovery. The episode is part of the Red Horse Ranch series.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
