What happens
Alabama and Tenderfoot follow Red, a proud wild horse Alabama once roped and tamed, as he gallops off across the hills of the Red Horse Ranch. Rose Carter hears Alabama's account of the chase and asks how he ever brought the horse in. At the ranch house, the hands sing and joke at a lively party, while Tenderfoot wonders whether Alabama cares for Rose. Later, the men discuss young Trigger Dawson, a boy they fear will return to a bad gang. Tenderfoot asks Alabama directly about his feelings for Rose, and Alabama brushes the question aside.
The Red Horse Ranch, including the corral, the surrounding hills and creek, and the ranch house where a party is held.
Characters: Alabama, Tenderfoot, Rose Carter, Idaho, Bob
Listen for: Alabama's account of taming Red, the party singing, and Tenderfoot's question to Alabama about Rose.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
