What happens
On the Red Horse Ranch, Alabama lies injured in the bunkhouse after an altercation with Steve Bradford, and the other hands try to cheer him up with music. Arizona, a cowhand, plays a trick on the crew by throwing his voice from behind a barrel, startling Cookie and the men who gather at the barn. When Mr. Carter arrives with Bradford, he announces that Bradford will take charge of the outfit while Alabama recovers. The men resent the arrangement, and Idaho and Alabama's friends vow not to take Bradford's orders. The story sets up a tense conflict between the hands and Bradford over who runs the ranch.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
