What happens

Alabama and the other ranch hands on the Red Horse Ranch are troubled by a runaway horse that threw Rose, the daughter of Sam Carter, and by the unexplained gunshots that spooked it. Steve Bradford arrived in time to pull Rose from the horse and has since become a friend of hers. Alabama suspects the shots were no accident and begins to question Bradford's motives, especially as Bradford presses Sam Carter for an answer about selling the ranch. Alabama confides in a fellow hand, and the two set out to examine the spot where the shots were fired. Rose, meanwhile, is distressed by her father's worries and by the pressure Bradford has placed on the family.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
