What happens

Captain Clark and Detective Frenchy investigate the kidnapping of Stephen Day from his home on Palm Avenue. Mr. Day reports that his son was taken from his bed during the night, and a caller has demanded a ransom. The officers search the bedroom, question the household, and set up a phone tap while the family waits for further contact. A trail leads them to a drug store phone booth and a laundry truck. The episode belongs to the Police Headquarters series, and no original air date or cast is given in the transcript.

A residence at 127 Palm Avenue, the nearby drug store on Williams, and the streets of the city.

Characters: Captain Clark, Frenchy, Mr. Day, Stephen Day, Java, Jarvis

Listen for: The phone tap set up by the police, and the clues that lead them from the Day house to the laundry truck.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
